In baptism, parents usually speak on behalf of the child. On Confirmation Day, the 9th graders get the opportunity to speak for themselves or affirm their faith in Jesus Christ.
Confirmation Sunday takes place each year on the third Sunday in October for 9th graders. In preparation for their confirmation, students attend Confirmation classes on Wednesday evenings during the school year when they are 7th and 8th graders.
