Sunday/Wednesday School

Excitement abounds on Sunday's and Wednesday's with Sunday School at 10:05 a.m. and Wednesday School at 6:45 p.m.  Four-year-olds through 8th graders come to sing songs, hear Bible stories and fun together as they learn about Jesus.  The Sparks Bible used in the lower grades helps the children to learn the stories of God’s love and then share the stories with their families.

Music is an important part of our education program.  Our two children choirs of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten as well as the 1st through 4th graders sing once a month at worship.  Their joyful singing brings smiles to the faces of the congregation.

Youth as well as adults also learn through hands on activities at Global Mission Festival held during the winter.  They see and hear how children live and learn about Jesus around the world through hands on activities and foods.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a fun-filled week long program held for ages 3 through 5th grade.  Arts and crafts, games, videos, music and stories are packed into each morning.   VBS meets at the church the first full week after USC schools have been dismissed for the summer.  Sixth and seventh graders assist with the activities.

During the school year confirmation classes for 7thand 8th graders meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:30. Gathering together with fellow classmates and teachers all learn Bible stories as well as The Lord’s Prayer, The Apostles. Creed and the Ten Commandments and how these affect lives today.

Service projects provide meaningful opportunities for students and adult leaders to see how helping those in need results in the helper being blessed!

In the fall of their ninth grade year students affirm their baptisms in the rite of confirmation on Reformation Sunday.

Bible Camp

We encourage children ages 1st - 12th grade to attend Bible Camp. Camps vary from one day camp to overnights from one to five nights. Last year Good Shepherd sent 9 children to Good Earth Village where they enjoyed varied activities and getting to know other campers. Good Shepherd offers scholarships to help our children go to camp.

Youth Groups

Youth Group creates meaningful relationships for 7th through 12th graders. By spending time together at a variety of events such as Valley Fair, Mount Kato Skiing, Game Night, Movie Night and Good Earth Village Bible Camp relationships are developed as the youth grow in their faith.
